Learning Gaidhlig(Scots-Gaelic)
Through this page we hope to promote Scottish culture by putting up some gaelic language lessons and resources. This will be meager to begin with but hopefully through time and coordination between An Canach and this website we will benefit from shared resources to allow clanspeople/anyone an easy access point for learning the language of our ancestors. Good luck and have fun.
NOTE: In searching online and in libraries remember that there is a distinct difference between Scots-Gaelic and Irish-Gaelic, there is even Manx-Gaelic. The words are very similar but are seperate entities. Scots-Gaelic is called Gaidhlig while Irish-Gaelic is called Gaeilge. All of these varieties are distantly related to and form a branch of the Celtic language group. Welsh, Breton, Cornish, Gallic, etc. are all members of this larger group.
