Project Results
This page provides your DNA test results. You will also find here some unique genealogy tools that may help overcome your family's brick wall.
Kit numbers, names and results in the Y-DNA and mtDNA tables are color-coded to show emerging family groups. Within each group there are family lines identified by an alphanumeric designator. These family lines represent project participants who are related either by an exact match or an acceptable genetic distance. Names not color-coded do not yet have a family group or family line. Over time, all participants will join their distinctive family line.
In the column marked MALE ANCESTRY, you will notice a number that is linked to additional information about the participant’s male lineage. Genealogists will want to compare the male lineage among individuals who match to determine how far back a common ancestor might be found.
In the column marked MIGRATION, you will notice a linked number that will take you to additional information about the participant’s family migration pattern. This also is a valuable genealogy tool to compare the family migration among individuals who match.
It is the intent of the Henderson DNA project to provide you with information that is useful in the pursuit of your genealogy. Some DNA projects burden you with volumes of unnecessary information; some of it so technical you need a degree in genetics to understand it. We hope to avoid that problem by providing some simple, common denominators that you can apply to your own genealogy research. These common denominators include identification of Henderson Haplogroups, identification of Family groups and Family lines, and Tracking of First Hendersons to Land in the Americas.
To thwart identity theft, only surnames and kit numbers identify our participants. If you match another participant, you will be given contact information in a separate email so you can work together to find your common ancestor. The intent of the Henderson DNA Project is to protect your information and your identity as outlined in the Family Tree DNA policy on confidentiality and privacy.
