The Henderson Surname DNA Project

Welcome to the Henderson Surname DNA Project formed under auspices of the Clan Henderson Society of the United States. This service is offered to Henderson family genealogists who desire to find lost relatives when the paper trail ends and the brick wall takes its place. We use a painless cheek scraping inside the mouth to obtain DNA that can accurately determine a two party relationship with a 99.9% probability.

The Henderson Surname DNA Project serves the members and society of Clan Henderson. The surnames that comprise the project include Henderson, Henryson, Henrisoun, Henders, MacHendry, McHendry, MacHenry, McHenry, Hendry, Henry, Hendrie, Hendron, d’Handresson, MacKendrick, McKendrick, MacKendry, McKendry, MacKendree, Kendrick, Hendrick(s) and other versions of MacEanruig “son of Henry”.

Success of the Henderson Surname DNA Project will be defined by the number of participants who receive valuable information from its findings both on an individual and clan basis. DNA samples will be maintained for 25 years or longer making this a living project that will grow over time into a valuable research tool for future generations of Hendersons. Findings and conclusions will contribute to the history of Clan Henderson, marking its travel through time.
