Nichols, died April 16, 1889; Rebecca, born November 8, 1805, married George Nichols, first, and afterward Nehemiah Raplee, lives at Bath; Elizabeth born January 14, 1809 married Caleb J. Legg, lives in Torrey; Richard, born January 15, 1810 died May 15, 1864; Anna B. born July 11, 1812, married Barnum Mallory, lives in Illinois; Jane, born June 1, 1814 married Smith L. Mallory, lives west; Harriet, born November 17, 1816, married Louis Millard, lives in Dundee; James W. born March 19, 1819 married martha A. Drake, and lives at Milo Center; Rachel, born July 9, 1821 married James C. Longwell, lives at Penn Yan.&nbsp; Children of Richard and Rosalinda Henderson:&nbsp; Samuel&nbsp; S., born October 9, 1836; Charles, born February 27, 1838, died May 28, 1872; Marvin and Marsden born April 2, 1842; James A., born October 6, 1845.&nbsp; Richard Henderson the pioneer, settled between Milo Center and Himrods about the Year 1795.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>another account:&nbsp; Town of Milo (same ref. book)</DIV><DIV>Richard Henderson:&nbsp; A native of Ireland, Richard Henderson was born in 1766, and came at seven years of age with his parents to Pennsylvania.&nbsp; In the Revolutionary War he drove a baggage wagon for the American Army.&nbsp; He was a surveyor and came with David Wagener to the Genesee Country where he was much employed by Charles Williamson and others in the survey of land.&nbsp; On one occasion he was offered a township in payment of his services and refused it.&nbsp; The land would have made him a large fortune.&nbsp; While surveying in Cayuga County somne Indians stole his compass and but for the good fortune of meeting other friendly Indians he ccould not have found his way back to camp.&nbsp; He married Maria, daughter of David Wagener, in 1795, and they settled on a large tract of land midway between Milo Center and Himrods, and there remained while they lived.&nbsp; They moved directly into the woods, conveying their property on an ox sled.&nbsp; They were early and ardent Methodists; their home of hospitality and the itinerant preachers of the early days always had a cordial welcome under their roof.&nbsp; In fact it was the place for holding quarterly and other meetings for many years.&nbsp; Their old mansion, which was a house of fine pretensions in its day was built in 1811 and is still in good preservation.&nbsp; It was improved by James C. Longwell, who subsequently owned it.</DIV></DIV>]]>

There son</DIV><DIV>John Franklin Henderson, born in Enterprize KY (Carter County) in 1887 was my grandfather.&nbsp; From what I have found they came into KY from PA. I have seen some unconfirmed (LDS database info) that shows the family came from Scotland to Va about 1680 and migrated west to PA.</DIV>]]>
